connie duinink prayer flag

It had to be blue, that little flag that is going to travel up another mountain. And now, just a few years later, we learned that the cancer has not yet given up. Cancer may steal some things from us, but it cannot reach to who we truly are. And the truth is that Mary is one of those very lovely women who just makes life better for all of us who know her.  Her generous heart, sense of fun, and godly character influence so many around her as a Wife, Mom, and Grandma, a Sister, Auntie, Teacher and Friend.

This second flag, this second trip up a mountain, is to honor her and again celebrate life. So how do you fit all the wonderful things to celebrate about Mary on a 12 inch scrape of fabric? Perhaps that is something the journey has taught us – to see and welcome the joys of everyday life as love notes from God and to hold most dearly to our FAITH and FAMILY.
