Drake Students bring stories to life from the Fall 2018 Transformational Journey to Tibet

In the fall of 2018, Drake University Professors Yasmina Madden and Sandra Patton-Imani team-taught Oral Histories and Life Narratives, an Anthropology and English course focused on oral history methods and creative non-fiction writing. Drake University students entered into conversation with cancer survivors, caregivers, and staff who participated in the Above + Beyond Cancer’s Journey to Tibet. As part of a growing partnership between Drake University and Above + Beyond Cancer, students partnered with team members and conducted life history interviews, then pairs collaborated on narratives, which are presented here as story cascades.
