Combining financial planning, estate planning, and tax planning techniques, planned giving may enable you to make a gift of surprising significance, often with dramatic tax and financial rewards.

Planned gifts are usually deferred (gifts to be received at a later date) and can be excellent giving options for donors to leave their Above + Beyond Cancer legacy and help us fulfill our mission of elevating the lives of those touched by cancer, to create a healthier world.

A Charitable Bequest in your Will or Trust

By far the most common way that estate gifts are given to charities is through a bequest established in your will or trust. Gifts made in your will are very simple to outline and will have an amazingly positive impact on our organization, helping us elevate the lives of those who are touched by cancer, to create a healthier world. You may outline a specific bequest of a fixed dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or the residual of your estate.

Suggested Language for Bequest in a Will or Trust

The language to use in your Will or Trust is fairly simple, such as:

“I give to Above + Beyond Cancer, (EIN 45-3951308), an Iowa nonprofit corporation located in Des Moines, Iowa, the sum of $____________ .”

OR

“I give to Above + Beyond Cancer, (EIN 45-3951308), an Iowa nonprofit corporation located in Des Moines, Iowa, _____ percent of the residue of my estate.”

OR

“I give to Above + Beyond Cancer, (EIN 45-3951308), an Iowa nonprofit corporation located in Des Moines, Iowa, all of the residue of my estate.”

There are other estate gift options that may be better for your specific situation. Such as :

• Gifts of Real Estate

• Gifts of Grain

• Designating Above + Beyond Cancer as A Beneficiary of an IRA or Retirement Plan

• Charitable Gift Annuities

• Charitable Trusts
