World Cancer Day Hike
We are coming together on World Cancer Day to honor life, to remember those we love, and rekindle meaning and purpose to each and every day. The location is TBA. This FREE event is open to all. We encourage family and friends to join us. Hiking boots and walking sticks are recommended. This event is pet friendly.
The Fur Ride
The Fur Ride is your chance to sport your favorite faux fur, hop on two wheels, and have a smoke'n good time. We start at Ricochet in downtown Des Moines at 11 am for games, pizza and drinks. We’ll hop on our bikes (or drive!) over to Big Grove Brewery to dance to live music from The Guilty Pleasures and celebrate. There will be chances to win cool prizes, enter furry contests, and dance the afternoon away with live music.
Transformational Journey Movie Premiere
Join the participants of the 2025 Transformational Journey to Patagonia as we celebrate the epic adventure with friends and family. Watch the world premiere of the journey and enjoy popcorn and drinks at Fleur Cinema.

Celebrate the fundraising efforts of our 2024 JUMP! skydivers! Located inside a private airplane hangar, bring your friends and family and enjoy food, drinks, and live music and a video highlighting the JUMP! event during the summer.

National Cancer Survivor Day Bike Ride
Above + Beyond Cancer honors National Cancer Survivor Day by encouraging people to get outside, get active, and connect with one another.
Join us in a celebration of life and living each day with passion and purpose.
The FREE event kicks off in the parking lot in Earl Grimm Park, in Slater. Get energized with a selection of coffee and snacks before heading off on the 25-mile ride to Woodward and back to Slater, on the High Trestle Trail. The event begins at 9 a.m. and will wrap up at 12:30 pm. This event is open for all, registration is required.

2025 JUMP!
Three years after its inception, we JUMPed again! 13 local celebrities and 7 cancer survivors leapt from a plane to raise money for Above + Beyond Cancer with Des Moines Skydivers. Perfect weather, friends + family and a good cause - we are grateful for those who took the leap! Enjoy this highlight video from this year’s JUMP!

In 2023, we launched our newest event at Above + Beyond Cancer! 18 local celebrities jumped out of an airplane to raise money for our programs. Check out the footage from the skydive and what it means to our jumpers to support our mission.
